How can you serve?
Servanthood is part of our DNA as members of the body of Christ. Here at First Methodist, we strive to provide opportunities to serve for everyone, no matter how old you are or what season of life you are in.
We encourage you to take a look at the list below to see which areas of serving you believe would best fit your gifts.
"Each one should use whatever gifts he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms." 1 Peter 4:10
the host team
A host team member is usually the first person you'll see when you walk in the door of our church, ready to greet you and welcome you to First Methodist. We are passionate about hospitality and desire that everyone who comes to our church would feel welcomed and taken care of.
Host team members hand out the weekly bulletins, help people find seating, and assist during offering as well. If this sounds like a way you would love to serve, please contact Yvette Biddle.
We are always looking for passionate volunteers to work with our growing children's ministry. Serving children requires going through training and a background check. Here are some opportunities for you to serve:
- Sunday School/Children's Church
- Vacation Bible School (Summer)
- Ignite After-School Program

We love our Middle School, High School, and College students and there is always a need for people to serve in our Student Ministry. Serving in this ministry requires training and a background check. Here are some opportunities for you to serve:
- Small Group Leaders at NexGen/The Rock on Wednesday nights
- Chaperones for events
- Provide dinner for students on Wednesday nights
Contact Amber Moore for more information.
We were made to worship God and celebrate his goodness together. Our band loves leading people into God's presence through music. If God has gifted you with a musical talent, we encourage you to explore that by trying out for our worship team. Contact Tim Brinkman for more information!
Tech team members are in charge of operating the sound board, lighting systems, video camera, and screen display during services. As a team, our goal is to make sure services go smoothly so people can focus without distraction and engage in worship and learning more about God. If you are skilled in any of these areas, please contact Tim Brinkman for more information.
common grounds Coffee Bar
If you have the gift of hospitality, the coffee bar would be a great place for you to serve! Our coffee bar team rotates each weekend, and team members commit to a whole morning of serving coffee, tea, and snacks while greeting people and engaging in conversation. It is a fun way to get to know people, serve, and enjoy your morning cup!
Our Creative Souls team works together to beautifully decorate and care for our church on every occasion.
